Mohsen Koushki (b. Oct. 1986, Tehran) is an Iranian musician. He is active as a composer, pianist, teacher, and scholar. His music is in Tonal Music classical, Thematic, and in free tonal.

Mohsen Koushki is one of the Iranian composers who was able to present the “Iranian classical music” and Muqami music with a new sound in harmony with “minimal” style.

Koushki was born in October 1986 in Tehran, Iran. Koushki’s music education at the art school (professional technical) in the field of Electronics was abandoned for a few years, and in order, to be able to enter the “Tehran National University of Arts” and pursue the field of composition, he had to go to military service and finish it. During his military career, he managed to get his academic diploma and with great effort, he was able to become one of the top candidates in the music (composition) exam and a member of the “National Elite Foundation of the country”. Despite all the hardships, he also left the university in his last years of study and independently and self-taught the path of composing.

Kushki was born in a family where none of their members pursued music, and the only influence of the family in the arts came from his sister, who was a drama graduate, and through this, he got acquainted with philosophy. Therefore, he has different listening experiences of music in different styles since his childhood. He has composed music in different styles such as “pop”, “rock” and “electronic dance” at different times of his youth.

Kushki’s Discography (composing works) includes albums that have been released and works that, unfortunately, have not yet to be performed, recorded and published. These works include pieces for piano solo, voice and piano (lied), woodwind section solos, and most prominently “soprano saxophone solo”, brass section solos, guitar duet, violin sonata, trio, string quartet, quintet, choir, chamber music. He started composing seriously in 1391 and continued to publish his music albums, and in 2014, in cooperation with “Milad Zeynali“, a painter and artist, he exhibited the album “Improvisation” in the format of mix art in “Seyhoun Gallery” and until today. It is active in this field.
